ABOUT THE EVENT:
The Mt. Tabor Challenge is now in its 7th year although this is now the second year under the moniker “Mt. Tabor Doggie Challenge”. All the great things that make this event a unique experience are still included such as running on the shady, tree lined roads through one of Portland’s most amazing parks. Participants also enjoy great views of the city, surrounding cascade mountains and more in this fun and relaxing atmosphere! There is also still the great picnic after the event, live music and much much more!
However, changes we made last year such as Oregon Humane Society becoming the beneficiary, great dog-related sponsors, Widmer Brothers providing Drop Top, and much more are still in place.
The 8k course is pretty challenging, with a good mix of uphill and downhill. For a much easier run or walk, try the fairly easy 5k with more downhill than up.
Bring everyone for this fun, family-friendly event!
ABOUT THE KIDS EVENT:
The kid's race is a non-timed 1/2 mile event for children of all ages. The cost for this event is free without a t-shirt. If you would like to purchase a shirt for the kid's event it is $15. Parents are welcomed and encouraged to run or walk with their kids. There is also no cost for parents to run with kids. |
